The ResMed S8 VPAP Auto 25 (VPAP is the same functionality as BIPAP) features Easy-Breathe technology, which synchronizes the device to your own breathing pattern for a more comfortable experience. As with all traditional bilevel/BIPAP systems, it offers S (spontaneous) mode therapy in which two treatment pressures are set for inhalation (IPAP) and exhalation (EPAP). It also offers Auto titration mode, which utilizes a sophisticated algorithm that analyzes data collected on a breath-by-breath basis, to provide the user with the least amount of pressure required to overcome any apnea or hypopnea (shallow breathing) events. This provides the most effective therapy available, as the device will never apply a pressure greater than what is needed. It is also ideal for those individuals who are uncertain of their pressure requirements.
 
The VPAP Auto 25 also offers several comfort features like Vsync. Vsync is a leak management algorithm that takes into consideration the leak rate of the mask, and compensates accordingly, to insuring that the user is delivered the exact pressure set on the device. Another newly added technology is TiControl  - breath synchronization control, which provides the most comfortable and natural bilevel therapy available to the market. The trigger/cycle sensitivity option also provides the user more freedom to control the way the device delivers the breathing cycle. All these features add up to a VPAP/BIPAP device that is highly programmable, and adaptive to the user's needs. 
 
The pressure range for the VPAP Auto 25 is 4-25cm h20, and includes all the traditional features like ramp, data recording of AHI, and compliance information, automatic altitude adjustment, and automatic power adjustment from 100-240v. The S8 VPAP Auto 25 also has the ability to run, with optional adapter, off a 12-volt power source.
